Troubleshooting

DVR not showing on mobile app: the checks that solve it fastest

When remote viewing stops working, the problem is usually not the app alone. It is often a network detail, an offline platform service, changed login information, or a router change that broke the original setup.

Check the recorder on the local network first

Before blaming the mobile app, confirm the recorder still has a valid IP, gateway, and DNS settings. If the recorder cannot reach the internet, the app usually cannot reach it either.

Look at P2P or platform access status

Most modern mobile viewing setups depend on the recorder reporting online through its cloud or platform service. If that status is offline, the issue is often on the recorder or router side rather than the phone side.

Common reasons remote view fails

  • Router or ISP change
  • Gateway or DNS misconfiguration
  • Wrong device password after an update
  • Recorder time/date issues
  • App account or region mismatch
If local live view works at the recorder but the mobile app fails, start with network access and platform status before resetting everything.
